Making the lowest of the people priests and preachers of high places

Pastor David Lankford discussed 2 Kings 17:24 thru the end of chapter and concentrated on verses 31-33:

31 And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.

32 So they feared the Lord, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.

33 They feared the Lord, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.

Read carefully that they feared the Lord but worshiped gods. Then Pastor Lankford states the following:

“What have we done folks?

We have anointed, we have made unto ourselves and taken the lowest of people and made them the priests to serve us. People today are not looking for Godly men to preach a message of conviction that would cause them to rent their hearts and to repent and to pray and ask God for forgiveness. No we don’t want to hear that. We want to anoint somebody who in the pulpit will give us what we want.

Some preachers get millions for book deals even before their books are written and printed. Why? Because the people made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests or preachers of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places. So they are telling you this is what we are going to do and how we are going to do it and God is going to bless it. But it has nothing to do with the Scriptures and nothing to do with the Spirit of God in any capacity.

John 4:4 (woman at well) show He cares about everyone. Now look at verse 20–“Our fathers worshiped in this mountain and You say in Jerusalem is where men ought to worship.” (See 2 Kings 17:32). They made the high places for themselves. They created the sanctuary. They created the churches. They created the environment. And He is telling her no. There will come a time when you will worship at neither place but worship the Father. Then He said “You worship you know not what.” This is profound because church people do not know who or what they are worshiping. We know this because of these false gods and deities here in 2 Kings 17. Each faction created and made these false gods and deities. This woman was confused. She did not know who or what was God. Jesus told her that she did not have a clue of what worship was about. People who go to church today do not have one clue about worship, about the Word of God, about the Holy Spirit, about the gifts of the spirit. They have no clue about anything. They say well I went to church Sunday. No you didn’t. You went there and you do not have a clue what you did there when it comes to the things of the Kingdom of God. Because the preacher didn’t preach and the Holy Spirit was never made manifest. When the Holy Spirit is made manifest you are going to repent, pray, praise and worship.

People who have a relationship with God know what worship is.”

2 Timothy 4

I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reproverebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
