Why is the gospel taught but the gospel of the Kingdom not taught?

By Richard Duke

Colossians 1:13.

13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son:

Matthew 6:33.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Read Acts 1.  Verse 3–Jesus preached the Kingdom of God.  But see the question at verse 6.  It appears the Kingdom of Israel is on the disciples’ minds.  See the response of Jesus to what is on their minds, at verse 7.

It appears that nothing has changed.  More focus is on Israel than the Kingdom of God.  We do not hear Colossians 1:26-27 preached (Jesus inside us–the Kingdom of God and the hope of Glory) nor do we hear much about the Kingdom chapter in the Bible–Matthew 13. Jesus inside us is spiritual and that gives our minds hope–the hope of glory.  We can then be renewing our minds.  See the last verse in this post regarding renewing the mind.

Romans 12:2 (I corrected for the Greek active tense)–

2 And be not conforming to this world (sanctification–5 senses saying no to the world systems by taking up your cross): but be ye transforming by the renewing of your mind (soul–denying  desires of the soul), that ye may be proving what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The gospel:

1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory [hold fast to] what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

IT IS THE SOUL THAT IS SAVED.

THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM INVOLVES THE SPIRIT, NOT THE SOUL.  We have a King: it is either King Jesus (Yeshua) or king satan–the ruler of the world systems and the god of this age [time outside the realm of eternity].

Colossians 1:26-27.

26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to His saints [notice saints–those that most of the New Testament is written to–SEE THE LINK BELOW]:

27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Who is most of the New Testament written to? The answer may surprise you.

Why is Christ in you the hidden mystery of ALL ages and generations not taught?  (Most are taught you in Christ, which is salvation or being saved.)   I believe the Bible gives the answer.

First, it appears that many congregations are not being taught about the Kingdom of God—the gospel of the Kingdom [Christ in you].  They are only taught the gospel [you in Christ].   You in Christ is salvation—saving of the soul.  The Kingdom of God is spiritual—the spirit.

Before I give the second reason, read my first message again, and then look at the following Scriptures.

Matthew 13 is the Kingdom of God chapter [Matthew primarily used Kingdom of Heaven]:

Matthew 13 contains many parables to teach the Kingdom of God.  Read verses 1-9.  Then concentrate on verses 9-13.

Matthew 13:9-13.

Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

Now look carefully at the below—verses 16-17 [changed properly to the Greek]:

Matthew 13:16-17

16 But blessed are your eyes, for they are seeing: and your ears, for they are hearing.

17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

Luke 10:18-24.

18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

23 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:

24 For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

Now look at this:

John 3:3.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot be seeing the kingdom of God.   [We must SEE and continue seeing the Kingdom of God to receive Christ in you–the Kingdom of God]

Now look at 1 Corinthians 2:1-7:

1 Corinthians 2:1-7

1And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory [remember hope of glory in Colossians 1:26-27]:

So, now the second reason that the kingdom is not being taughtIt begins with Jesus:  11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not givenMatthew 13:11.

Who are “them” (they for for proper English)?   Those who it is given to (the mysteries of the Kingdom) are disciples; and those who it is not given to (the mysteries of the Kingdom) are not disciples.  Who are disciples?

John 8:31.

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

Now for the final analysis, from the Bible, why the Kingdom is not taught (third reason).

John 10:1 makes it clear that the rabbis (will call pastors) were under the law.

John 10:10-14 makes it clear that pastors are the one who come ONLY to steal, only to kill and only to destroy?  Why?  First they are under the law; and are cursed under Galatians 1, and then read verses 2-10.  They are cursed.  If they are cursed, then they cannot know the hidden mystery—Christ in you, the Kingdom of God and the hope of glory.

Fourth, they are not teaching the doctrine of God our Savior under Titus 2; hence they are teaching false doctrine.

Titus 2:10-15.

10 Not purloining [stealing—they come only to steal…], but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.

11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world [age is correct, not world];

13 Looking for that blessed hope [see that word hope—only comes from Christ in you, the hope of glory], and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

What is false doctrine?  First it is the failure to preach the Kingdom of God—doctrine of God our Savior Jesus Christ.  Second, one must understand what Jezebel means in Greek?  Answer:  false doctrine.

So what does the Jezebel false doctrine mean?  It means preaching godliness for GAIN.  See how God has blessed us and see all the things we are doing for God.  The Bible deals with godliness for gain seriously—it says to get away FROM SUCH!!!

1 Timothy 6:1-11.

1Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed [what doctrine?—see next verse].

And they that have believing masters [doctrine of God’s divine order—hierarchy], let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness [doctrine of God our Savior in Titus 2];

He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

But godliness with contentment is great gain.

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.  [read verses 1-9 carefully because this is talking about pastors—who come only to steal, only to kill and only to destroy]

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

————–

If Jesus said they cannot see or hear the Kingdom—the hidden mystery, then our prayers for pastors is that God teach them the hidden mystery of all ages and generations–Christ in you, the Kingdom of God.  Jesus said they cannot see and they cannot hear.  If one is not seeing the Kingdom, he cannot know of the kingdom because he is under Jezebel—false doctrine.

Read Acts 1.  Verse 3–Jesus preached the Kingdom of God.  But see the question at verse 6.  It appears the Kingdom of Israel is on their minds.  See the response of Jesus at verse 7.

Acts 1:1-7.

The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

It appears to me nothing has changed.  It appears that some focus more on Israel than the Kingdom of God.  We do not hear Colossians 1:26-27 preached (Jesus inside us–the Kingdom of God and the hope of Glory). Jesus inside us is spiritual and that gives our minds hope–the hope of glory.  We can then be renewing our minds.
