Re-posted: The Early Church Fathers and the Last Days of the Jewish Age

“BARNABAS:

Written anonymously around 100 AD, the “Epistle of Barnabas” is the earliest extra-Canonical source we have. Although not included in the Canon of the New Testament, it is an incredibly early documentation of the early Church’s beliefs about the last days. The Apostle John was probably alive when it was written. And although the authorship is disputed, we will refer to Barnabas as the author.

The Epistle of Barnabas sets forth the common view held by the early Church that the seventieth week of Daniel ended with the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD, as Messiah’s Day dawned and Christ’s Church was born. Barnabas writes, “For it is written, ‘And it shall come to pass, when the week is completed, the temple of God shall be built…in the name of the Lord.’ I find…that a temple does exist. Having received the forgiveness of sins…in our habitation God dwells in us….This is the spiritual temple built for the Lord.” (EOB, 16:6)

Barnabas uses the expression “the week,” but does not mention Daniel. Yet scholars agree from the context that this is definitely a reference to Daniel’s 70th week. And it is assumed by many scholars that the prophecy of Daniel’s seventy weeks was so well known and so widely expounded in the early Church that it needed no further explanationThe early Church did not avoid Daniel’s prophecy.

This early Christian writer connects Daniel’s vision of seventy weeks with the prophecy of Haggai 2:7-9 and the building of a spiritual temple,” the Church. The author of the Epistle of Barnabas obviously believed that Daniel’s 70th week was fulfilled with Christ’s first advent. This was when the Old Temple was destroyed and the new “spiritual temple” was initially established. Writing in 100 AD he clearly believed the 70th week of Daniel was already completed.

It seems clear from this passage in the Epistle of Barnabas that less than a century after Christ’s passion (remember that according to Daniel the Messiah would be cut off in the middle of the 70th week), it was the widespread belief of the Church that the 70th week of Daniel was completed. It is certain that Barnabas placed the end of the 70th week no later than 70 AD. His mention of the building of the Church (which was able to grow largely unimpeded after 70AD) makes it probable that Barnabas saw 67 to 70 AD and the destruction of Herod’s Temple as the end of the Jewish or Old Covenant Age and the dawning of Messiah’s Day. As David B. Currie writes in his book, Rapture, The End-Times Error That Leaves The Bible Behind, “He (Barnabas) assumes his readers will agree that the events of ‘the week’ led to the building of the Church”  (Page 422).”

Meaning of last days and last time in Hebrews 1 and 1 John 2

A study of Matthew 24:1-3; 34-35: And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of Thy coming, and of the end of the world?

The law was fulfilled around 70 AD [destruction of Jerusalem and the temple]–Matthew 5; Matthew 24; Mark 13; Luke 21; and other verses

Look at the events stated in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 that occur before the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple–THIS HAPPENED IN 70 AD; AND NOT IN THE FUTURE

Matthew 24:

1And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings [plural] of the temple.

And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.  [Jesus answered about “these things”–the buildings of the temple will fall.  They was destroyed, along with Jerusalem in 70 AD.]

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things [when will the buildings of the temple fall] be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world [age–aion]

Aion [Greek] means:

From the same as G0104; properly an age; by extension perpetuity (also past); by implication the world; specifically (Jewish) a Messianic period (present or future):—age, course, eternal, (for) ever (-more), [n-]ever, (beginning of the, while the) world (began, without end). Compare G5550.

NOTE AT THE END—RICHARD DUKE

We also believe that because most people–beginning after 1830–follow the premillian rapture doctrine [invented beginning in 1830] with the “end” meaning the end of time [age—world incorrectly used in most English-translated Bibles], the Kingdom of God hardly exists. Matthew 13–words of Jesus–told his disciples that many prophets and righeous men did not understand the Kingdom because they could not hear in the hearing and see in their seeing.  Matthew 13 is serious!

So we have the globalists working for the Kingdom of satan; and we have little Kingdom of God on earth.  NOW DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHY WE ARE LOSING!!!

The Kingdom is supposed to be inside us where were are supposed to further the Kingsom.  Jesus is King in the Kingom of God; and Savior in the gospel–death, burial and resurrection.

Colossians 1:26-27

26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Yes, Jesus is returning physically but His Kingdom was suppopsed to be inside us after the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple where Jesus said to his disciples that HE WAS RETURNING IN THE CLOUDS BRINGING HIS KINGDOM DURING THEIR GENERATION–Matthew 24; Mark 13; Luke 21.

Mark 9:1

Mark 9:1:

1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

Matthew 16:27-28:

27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then He shall reward every man according to his works.

28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in His kingdom.

Because almost all people, especially Evangelicals, are ONLY waiting for Jesus to return and bring His physical Kingdom, they know NOTHING about the Kingdom of God on earth, inside us.  They only know about getting the soul saved (soul is not the spirit–breath) and blood; and Jesus said that you bring them into the temple and make them twice the son of hell.  Matthew 23:15.

Matthew 7:21-23:

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils [demons]? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Three times it is said: did we not [verse 22]…in Your Name?  He says “I never knew you.”  Never.  Then in verse 23 He says: Depart from Me, you that workiniquity.”  Who is the father of iniquity?  Answer: Satan.  Jesus said they work iniquity. So whose name are they doing the things in, because Jesus does not know them, if they are working iniquity, as stated in verse 22?  Only two Gods have a Kingdom: (i) Jesus the King of righteousness; and (ii) Satan, the king (prince) of darkness. So the answer is they were doing these things in the name of Satan—the father of iniquity.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of heaven;
