12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
Luke 16:15-17 NASB:
15 And He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts; for that which is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God.
16 “The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John; since that time the gospel of the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it.
17 But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter of the Law to fail. (See verse 17 below under the KJV for further explanation.)
Luke 16:15-17 KJV:
15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. [READ THE NEXT TWO VERSES TO SEE WHO THE HIGHLY ESTEEMED ARE–THOSE UNDER THE LAW]
16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.
17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass [Jewish age of the law and the non-spiritual], than one tittle of the law to fail [pipto–to descend from a higher place to a lower place]. (Literally what passed away is anything of this earth. It was all replaced by the spiritual. If you can see it, touch it, hit it, jump up and down on it, etc., it is unreal in the economy of God, because the economy of God was made spiritual—SEE GALATIANS.) Only the spiritual matters now and Jesus brought heaven INSIDE US–Our Father who are in Heaven, hallowed be Your Name; Your Kingdom come…ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. Before 1870 believers knew this and their number one activity was furthering the Kingdom of God on EARTH; and going to heaven was an afterthought. They knew that the Spirit of Jesus was inside them-SEE GALATIANS.
